Making the first test cuts on this 5hp Powermatic shaper! This machine is an absolute beast, I'm taking a .75" tall x .375" deep dado here and I could hardly even tell it was cutting anything it was so smooth! This was just the first test cut, we have a lot more and much larger cuts planned for the machine, stay tuned! I'm using a huge 5.9" diameter insert carbide cutter taking a 1.75" tall x 1" deep rabbet and the machine had plenty of power! My dust collection is woefully underpowered to keep up with the amount of chips being produced here, that will definitely need to be addressed soon!
