The Bridge House at Blackcraig Castle is a dramatic two‑storey gatehouse built over a bridge across the River Ardle, designed by Patrick Allan Fraser around 1870s.  It features covered bridge architecture with gates at road level and keeper’s accommodation above, plus a spiral stair to manage access.
