This clip shows the California condor's amazing reflexes and agility. The prey-go-neesh (condor) is part of the Northern California Condor Restoration Program (NCCRP) flock. The NCCRP is a partnership between the Yurok Tribe and Redwood National and State Parks (NPS). The Tribe and park released the first birds in 2022. Breeding season for California condors is in full swing, and you know what that means: it's time for a dance-off! Condor trio 805, 861, & 926 have been inseparable for several years, but they have yet to nest together. This year feels different though – for the past few weeks they’ve been spotted passionately dancing nearly every day, and they’ve moved into a premium nesting territory on Bitter Creek National Wildlife Refuge.
