loving someone from a distance is its own kind of heartbreak — caring deeply but having no place in their life anymore. you still wonder how they’re doing, if they’re sleeping enough, if they’re eating, if they’re holding themselves together or falling apart. and even though the conversations stopped, the concern never did. so you just hope they’re gentle with themselves, hope they’re healing, hope life is being kind to the parts of them you can’t reach anymore. sometimes love doesn’t disappear
