Small hive beetles can be an issue, but I try to minimize the damage they do by using a variety of methods. Maintaining strong colonies with the right amount of space in the hive (depending on colony strength) is probably the most important thing you can do. I put unscented dry swifter sheets under and over the under cover and use disposable beetle traps with oils (either a deterrent or a trap, depending…). I also maintain my hives, sealing gaps and cracks so beetles can’t sneak in. #Smallhivebe
