It’s no secret the rivalry has intensified in recent years. Over the last decade, the SEC has won six of the 10 national championships. Two were won by Clemson in that stretch but the last two were won by Big Ten rivals, Michigan last year and Ohio State in January.
The conference's annual summer event has concluded, but talking season will continue for a just a little bit longer.

Alabama football had 11 players named to the preseason All-SEC teams announced Friday after SEC Media Days, as voted on by conference media. Wide receiver Ryan Williams and left tackle Kadyn Proctor each made the first team. No defensive players were included on the first team.
A surprise in the poll? Vanderbilt, which has had a winning record in conference play just once since 1982, earned two points in the media's picks for the 2025 champion. That's not much, but it is more than Texas A&M, Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky and Mississippi State, which didn't receive any points in that poll.
Florida or Oklahoma could hold the College Football Playoff committee's feet to the fire, on heels of SEC's strength of schedule campaign.
