Gov. Gavin Newsom and California legislative and congressional members stood with Texas state lawmakers in their opposition to President Trump's plan to redraw voting maps to hold onto power in the midterm election.

Texas House Democrats who fled the state to block a vote on redistricting were hosted by California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday after he vowed to have California's congressional districts redrawn to offset the expected gain in GOP congressional seats.
