A Minnesota man accused of killing State House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, Vance Boelter, was indicted on Thursday by a grand jury on eight charges, including two counts of first-degree murder.

A Hennepin County grand jury upgraded charges against Boelter in an eight-count indictment that slapped him with first-degree premeditated murder charges.

State prosecutors had previously charged the man with second-degree murder in the deaths of State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband.
