The title of the most audacious Marvel movie of 2025, is technically not Thunderbolts, it's actually Thunderbolts*. That little asterisk is an odd detail, and in theory, is just an inside joke that the movie is having with itself.

But timed to the recent Super Bowl trailer came a tweet from Marvel Studios Japan featuring an international Thunderbolts* poster which seems to give away the meaning of the asterisk: “*The Avengers are not available” it reads.

Foremost among those was the "Big Game" trailer for Marvel's upcoming "Thunderbolts*" movie. It feels significant that Marvel opted for "Thunderbolts*" to be the 2025 film that got the Super Bowl ad.
