East Precinct Officer Marlon Moore was off duty at the time and riding a motorcycle when it crashed, according to police. Birmingham police issued the following statement.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Birmingham Police are mourning the loss of one of their own. Officer Marlon Moore was killed Monday morning in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 59 near 1st Avenue North.
