The Federal Trade Commission voted unanimously on Friday to dismiss its complaint against Grand Canyon University, Grand Canyon Education and Brian Mueller, president of GCU and CEO of GCE.

The unanimous FTC vote comes after the U.S. Department of Education dropped a multimillion-dollar fine over similar allegations.

“It’s been prostitution, drugs and other criminal activity along 27th Avenue between Northern and Indian School for a couple decades,” GCU President Brian Mueller told KTAR News 92.3 FM.

Mueller presented a vision of moving from Division II to Division I, and Colangelo, with his connections, was able to help expedite the process. This is GCU's 12th year in Division I.
