Over 80 Afghan women, who fled to Oman for higher studies under USAID scholarships, face forced return to Afghanistan due to cuts in foreign aid under Trump's administration, putting their education and safety at risk.

US aid funding enabled thousands of Afghan women to study abroad or online, but many of these programmes are now suspended.

The scholarships were abruptly terminated after the US President imposed the funding freeze while taking charge of the Oval Office in January.
