Mets catcher Francisco Alvarez exited Sunday’s 7-3 win over the Seattle Mariners in the Little League Classic in Williamsport with a right thumb injury. Alvarez will return to New York and undergo an MRI on Monday’s day off.

The Mets took down the Seattle Mariners 7-3 in Williamsport, Pa., in the latest installment of Major League Baseball's Little League Classic. Playing in front of a neutral crowd mostly full of youth baseball players and their families, New York captured its first series win since July 27 in San Francisco.

Benge was placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday with an undisclosed injury.
