56-year-old Brandy McLaughlin, from Hollywood, Fl. now faces 22 charges related to Saturday’s incident. GPD officials said they first received a call from McLaughlin around 8 a.m. where she told officers she accidentally fired her gun when she believed someone was vandalizing her trailer. Her trailer was in the parking lot of the Walmart.

A suspect is behind bars after firing shots in a Walmart parking lot on Saturday morning, according to the Gainesville Police Department. Police said witnesses reported hearing gunshots coming from a trailer in the parking lot of a Walmart located at 2900 SW 42nd St. in Gainesville.

Brandy Alexis McLaughlin, 56, of Hollywood, Florida, was arrested this afternoon after allegedly firing at least eight shots during a multi-hour stand-off that required the evacuation of numerous businesses in Butler Plaza.
