One person was killed and four were wounded in a stabbing attack at a bus station in the city of Haifa, Israel's ambulance service said, in what police described as a terrorist attack.

One man, aged 70, died and four others have been sent for medical treatment at the Rambam Hospital in Haifa, Israel's Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency service said on Monday. Israel's police said it was on the scene of a "stabbing attack" at Hamifratz Central Station in Haifa.

An Israeli police spokesperson stated that a stabbing attack in the Israeli city of Haifa on Monday was "carried out by a terrorist who is an Israeli Druze."
