Scattered storms raise the risk for localized flooding in North Carolina through Monday.
Out of the gate this week, heavy rain and the threat for flash flooding has dominated the weather headlines in the tri-state area. The flood threat diminishes overnight, but the heat and humidity will not let up.
Cloud cover will be quick to increase this morning, and afternoon storms form over the mountains. They will mostly stay there though, with the best storms chances to the south and west of Colorado Springs.
We start this Friday morning off warm and muggy with mid to upper 70s locked in across the Carolinas. Winds are light with mostly clear skies expected to kick things off.
