Union leader David Huerta is among several officials to face felony prosecution for alleged behavior related to Trump’s immigration agenda.

President Donald Trump said on Monday he would support the arrest of California's Gavin Newsom, in a dramatic escalation of a growing conflict with the Democratic governor about immigration protests that roiled Los Angeles during the weekend.

President Trump responded by sidestepping the state’s Democratic governor and deploying 2,000 National Guard members to the city. He portrayed the demonstrations as an existential threat to the country, and called the protesters “insurrectionists,” in what may become a rationale for him to invoke the Insurrection Act.
