The Houston Astros reportedly acquired a familiar face ahead of the 2025 MLB trade deadline. According to MLB.com's Brian McTaggart, the Astros traded for shortstop Carlos Correa in a deal with the Minnesota Twins. Correa will play third base in Houston to replace the injured Isaac Paredes, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Twins took on $33 million of Correa's remaining $103.42 million contract. It's a huge sum for the Twins to pick up, but the Astros are still inheriting a large portion of his deal as well.
