Donald Trump handed out pizza to National Guard troops who have been deployed onto the streets of Washington DC.

President Trump thanked National Guard soldiers and police officers involved in his crackdown on what he has described as rampant crime in Washington, D.C.

President Trump had told reporters that he would be “going out” to help patrol the streets with his D.C. federales, as part of the expanding federal takeover of Washington he ordered, now in its second week.

Days after Donald Trump sent National Guard troops and federal agents onto the streets of Washington, DC, the US president visited them on Thursday. He also handed out pizza and hamburgers as he praised their work.

Carrying a microphone, the US President thanked them for the officers for work and expressed optimism about the capital’s future.
