Before writer/director Mark Anthony Green pivoted to filmmaking, he was an editor at GQ Magazine — he knows the world of celebrity journalism and its opulent press junkets, which provides the setting for his directorial debut, “Opus,” a satirical, cynical riff on cults of personality.

Opus will likely disappoint viewers looking for a pop-star focused thriller, but those interested in the push and pull between journalists and celebrities might find something worth exploring here.

A select few caught the film back in January, when it originally premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. The entire cast pulled up to Park City for that event. However, if you weren't able to make it out to Utah earlier this year, Opus hits theaters nationwide on March 14.
