Herschend, the world’s largest family-owned themed attractions company, which owns Dollywood, has purchased Palace Entertainment's U.S. theme and water parks. Kennywood, , Sandcastle and Idlewild Park were part of the Palace Entertainment.

The sale also includes Idlewild and Sandcastle, both in western Pennsylvania, plus more than a dozen other parks and entertainment venues across the United States.
