The helicopter that crashed in the Hudson River and killed six people in April “suddenly separated into three major sections, a preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board said Wednesday.

Surveillance video showed the helicopter traveling South before it suddenly broke apart into three major sections; its fuselage, which held the pilot and passengers, the main rotor system and the tail boom including the tail rotor, the report said.
