Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy introduced legislation on Wednesday aimed at establishing a federal right for college athletes to market their Name, Image and Likeness.
First, Murphy and Massachusetts Rep. Lori Trahan reintroduced the "College Athlete Economic Freedom Act," a bill that establishes federal rights for college athletes to market their name, image and likeness. The bill notably includes an allowance for international students to engage in NIL activity without losing their visa status.
