State and federal prosecutors have charged more than 320 people in the largest coordinated takedown of health care fraud schemes in Justice Department history that uncovered nearly $15 billion in false claims.

Fraud schemes involving assisted living residents are among those exposed in the Justice Department’s National Health Care Fraud Takedown.

The $14.6 billion crackdown spanned all 50 states and included charges from opioid trafficking and telemedicine fraud to transnational identity theft schemes.
