Amazon said Wednesday it was slashing another 16,000 jobs across the company in an ongoing bid to restructure the sprawling trillion-dollar firm.
Amazon is cutting another 16,000 jobs as the technology giant continues to remake itself in “a world that’s changing faster than ever,” as noted in a memo to staff Wednesday from Beth Galetti, who leads human resources operations for the company.
Amazon will lay off approximately 400 workers in Washington state as part of its decision to close all Amazon Go and Amazon Fresh stores across the country, according to a notice filed with the state Employment Security Department on Wednesday.
The latest round of layoffs came after the company cut 14,000 white-collar workers in October.
