By Tatyana Kekic in Belgrade Tens of thousands of people gathered in the southern Serbian city of Niš on March 1 to mark the fourth month since a deadly railway station disaster, in what has become the largest and most significant challenge to President Aleksandar Vucic’s decade-long rule.

Vucic’s government has said it will launch an anti-corruption campaign, and has denied allegations of corruption.

Thousands stood in silence for 15 minutes in the southern city of Nis on Saturday to commemorate those killed in a railway station disaster, in a student-led protest that has grown into the biggest threat yet to the Serbian president's grip on power.

Tens of thousands of people on Saturday joined protesting students in Serbia, at a rally proclaiming they will no longer accept injustice and corruption.
