Two top cops in New Jersey have been placed on leave after the murder-suicide that claimed the life of beloved veterinarian Lauren Semanchik and her new boyfriend raised “serious concerns” about the department’s operations.

Slain veterinarian Lauren Semanchik feared for her life and even spoke of getting a restraining order against New Jersey state trooper Ricardo Santos nearly a year before the deranged ex-boyfriend killed her in a sickening murder-suicide, text messages show.

Amid the investigation into the double murder-suicide carried out by a New Jersey state trooper, the Franklin Township Police Department has been taken over by the prosecutor’s office.
