HBO confirms The Last of Us season 3 will debut in 2027 with Abby in focus, despite online cancellation rumours.

Earlier this year, Kaitlyn Dever took over the role of Abby when she joined the cast of The Last of Us Season 2 on HBO. And Dever may not have a bigger fan of her take on Abby than Bailey herself.

Dever, who joined the panel virtually, also spoke about taking on the character of Abby, considering that she notably killed fan-favorite Joel (Pedro Pascal) at the start of Season 2.

Dever was obviously speaking of the moment Abby killed Joel, and series co-creator Craig Mazin had a few things to say about the death of the beloved character played by Pedro Pascal.

"Abby is so intimidating because of her strength," Dever says. "And that comes from her dark and very sad past and how long she has been thinking about killing Joel.
