Houston restaurant and hospitality mogul Tilman Fertitta will officially serve as the U.S. Ambassador to Italy and San Marino after the U.S. Senate voted to confirm him Tuesday evening. Fertitta's confirmation passed on an 83-13 vote,

The Texas billionaire has said he will drop his position at Landry’s, but will continue his ownership of the Houston Rockets.

Tilman Fertitta was confirmed by the Senate as the new U.S. Ambassador to Italy. His status as owner of the NBA’s Houston Rockets will not change.
