At the end of each season, The News-Press selects All-Area teams to honor the best athletes in every sport. Coaches from area schools are sent nomination forms and asked to nominate and rate their athletes as well as those from other teams.

Herald's All-Area girls basketball first and second teams, headlined by player of the year Ally Weathers, of Loretto.

Allen led the Mideastern Conference with 17.6 points per game and drained a career-best 75 shots from 3-point range this winter. He finishes with 1,628 career points. This is his second consecutive StarNews All-Area Boys Basketball Player of the Year honor.
