A major forest fire has broken out in Greece, and authorities have ordered several villages near Corinth, west of Athens, to evacuate.
Temperatures reaching, or exceeding, 38C, dry conditions and high winds are fanning the flames. Mr Vathrakoyannis warned, under such conditions, wildfires “expand very quickly and become dangerous. These conditions are expected to prevail over the coming days."
